Upon arrival at Bali Denpasar Airport, proceed to Sidemen Valley located at East Bali, about 2 hours’ drive. Surrounded by panoramic rice fields, traditional villages and views of Mount Agung at 9,944 ft, Sidemen is one of the most beautiful areas in Bali where you can escape the crowds.
Depending on your arrival time, your guide can take lead on a short easy walk around the rice fields near your resort.
Overnight at Sidemen
Start your morning with a relaxing walk through a plantation of vegetables and rice fields, interacting with friendly farmers along the way. Continue hiking up a small hill, about 200 steps up to Sangkahan Gunung Temple at about 4,000 ft elevation. It will take some effort to reach the top of the hill, but you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the valley. This quiet temple sees very few visitors and was a favorite viewing spot for the King of Sideman in the 19th century to enjoy scenic views of the surrounding rice terraces.
Return to your resort for lunch break. Afternoon is free to enjoy your resort facilities or participate in their complimentary activities.
Overnight at Sidemen
Early morning drive about 45min to visit a spectacular waterfall hidden among rock formations. Best to arrive before 9am to avoid the crowds. From the parking lot, it’s a simple 15min walk on a flat trail followed by a few hundred steps (some steep sections) down to the river level. Then you will need to wade through a stream, sometimes knee high waters and crawl over a few rocks to get to the hidden rock formation. It is not technically difficult but takes a bit of effort to experience this magical place, a round trip takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Considered one of the most beautiful hidden falls in Bali, it is well worth the effort!
For rest of the day, enjoy your resort facilities or go on an exciting river rafting experience with professional guides.
Overnight at Sideman
Meet your friendly host this morning for a visit around Sidemen Market to see local fresh produce and ingredients used commonly in traditional Balinese cuisine. Return to your host’s home where your cooking class begins at an open-air kitchen. You will learn various traditional cooking techniques and local spices used popularly for home cooking. Enjoy a delicious lunch before bidding your host farewell.
Afternoon, drive about 45min to Padang Bai Harbor for a speedboat transfer to Lombok. The boat ride will take about 1h 45min. Upon arrival at Lombok, you will be welcomed and transferred to your beach resort.
Overnight at Lombok
Gili Isle, Gili Air and Gili Meno are word famous for its spectacular coral reefs and rich marine life, including giant turtles. Depending on your preference, you can go on a half or full day boat trip around the Gili Islands for snorkeling and sunbathing at pristine beaches.
Overnight at Lombok
Today is free to relax by the beach or arrange additional activities around the island with your resort. We recommend a nature hike to beautiful waterfalls of Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep.
Overnight at Lombok

Consider a pre- or post-tour extension to this itinerary in either Java or Flores to explore the hinterlands of Indonesia. Java is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Borobudur and Mt. Bromo, an active volcano popular with hikers. Explore off the beaten track tribal villages in Flores and the famous 3-colored volcanic craters of Mt. Kelimutu.
Explore the largest single Buddhist structure in the world built in the 8th century and scenic hikes around the villages of Borobudur. Journey to East Java for an easy hike up the volcanic crater of Mt Bromo at 2,329m (7,641 ft), no hiking experience required!
An exciting and scenic overland trip through the hinterlands of Flores to explore remote tribal villages that hardly see any visitors. While accommodation is basic and requires long stretches of overland driving, this journey offers a rare insight to ancient customs and cultures.

The best times to travel in Indonesia are from April to September when the weather is typically dry. October to March can see heavy downpours especially from November through January, we do not recommend heading to off beaten track areas in Flores where roads can see heavy flooding.
Most popular areas in Bali are busy throughout the year, but May, June and September can see lesser crowds outside of the school summer vacations. The dry season is also ideal for snorkeling and diving off the coast of Bali, Lombok and Komodo Islands.
