2015 Founders Journey to Nepal
Earthquake Relief and Trek to Mustang
Join the owners of Red Lantern Journeys, Ambrose Bittner and Irene Wong, on this special trip to Nepal to do volunteer earthquake relief work followed by a spectacular trek in to the Mustang kingdom of Nepal. This trip is truly a bucket-list opportunity. Choose to join the earthquake relief efforts, the trek to Mustang, or both.
About the Mustang Trek
This trek is into a restricted region of Nepal and requires special permits to access this ancient kingdom that borders Tibet in central Nepal. You'll travel to the lakeside town of Pokhara, then fly around the Annapurna Range to Jomsom where the trek begins. This trek crosses passes that are roughly 3,900 meters (13,000 feet) and will require walking for as much as 8 hours or more per day. All accommodations during the trek will be in family-run tea house lodges, which helps support the local economy and gives you an insight into the Himalaya culture. Morning and evening meals will be at these lodges.
